I’m not lying, my eyelashes fell out and then BAM eye infection a WEEK before my chemo started & I blame this for my delay. Worship and cherish your eyelashes they really do work hard.

There’s my puffy eye 2 days after I lost all of my eyelashes, I spent the next 5 days rubbing ointment on there.
Shout out to my GP for responding within an hour and sorting that out for me, you’re the man xxx
Right so convenience side of things covered, let’s get shallowwwwwwwww!!!
When my eyelashes fell out I felt like a naked mole rat. My eyelashes had survived chemo every week for 12 weeks (are you bored of that yet?) and 1 cycle of EC. At this point I’m cocky, my eyebrows and eyelashes are here to stay surely? Chemo? HA, I laugh in the face of chemo. My 2nd cycle of EC had me humbled to say the least, that’s when it happened. 2 cycles before the end of all of this hair loss malarkey.
Upset, I started my deep dive on the web. Let me tell you there are so many eyelash serums out there it is overwhelming to say the least. So with all of this choice how did I decide?
Well it came down to morals really. A company called Revitalash, and here is why:
Developed by a physician (ophthalmologist).
This serum was made out of love, the physician created this for his wife who was battling breast cancer to help her feel beautiful again.
No parabens.
Cruelty free - NO testing on animals.
They support cancer research all year round - peep the pink bow on every product box.
$2 from every sale is donated to different cancer research programmes around the world.
You can read more about that here: https://www.revitalash.com/blogs/our-impact/how-we-are-making-an-impact-on-breast-cancer-with-your-help?srsltid=AfmBOopDowf5sXdquxhQy9bfeqciEXLwxYNexhQe8X6FOTmeL6Ac0fzh
Oh and obviously it works look here

This is the 29th July, the day my serum arrived and the day I started using it. As you can see, my unprotected, eyelashless, eyes.
3, yes THREE weeks later (22nd August), whilst on chemo still my eyelashes decided to reappear with this serum

It feels extremely gross to have a close up like this but whatever, for the greater good right?
Down to business, is it expensive? Yes it is, depending on what size/month supply you get. Currently they have a 20% off discount code on their website to celebrate their anniversary, you can find that here: https://www.revitalash.co.uk
There are obviously other serums out there, I used UK lash when I was pregnant and that was great but I can’t vouch for it right now because I haven’t used it whilst on chemo.
Spending money like this is tricky, I also didn’t want to wait for results whilst feeling like this so I looked into other options too, like strip lashes. I found that they were quite tricky to put on before all of this, try putting them on without any eyelashes at all!! I applaud those of you that have no issues doing this, for me it was a struggle to say the least.
I tried several strip lashes and I found the problem was the black strip made it almost obvious that I had no eyelashes underneath & I didn’t want to use eyeliner for my upper waterline (?? What’s it called??) because of being so scared of another eye infection - truly not fun. The strips don’t have a lot of bend to them either so are quite unforgiving with little mistakes.
Don’t you worry though, us chemo Huns have each other’s backs and here’s the proof for your pudding.

Created by Codilia Gapare - thank you!! The soft, flexible, AND invisible strip is a game changer. Easier to put on and looks more realistic without that harsh black line. These are available pretty much everywhere online, I couldn’t find them in any beauty shops I went into though.
I have been recommended alot of the magnetic lashes but I haven’t tried any, so again, I won’t be saying anything about them unless I do try them.
Whatever works for you, there is something out there. Always speak to your specialist team before using anything new like serums ok?! PLEASE. Remember I’m not a doctor and I don’t know what you can and can’t have etc etc etc. Check ingredients and be safe. AND FABULOUS HONEY.
